Workers and toiling, oppressed people of the country,

In these critical, tense, volatile, and anxiety-ridden conditions, the lives and well-being of all of us must be at the center of attention above all else. For us, who grapple daily with repression, tyranny, meager wages, runaway inflation, job insecurity, and economic pressures, any political, economic, or military crisis is first and foremost a direct threat to the security, livelihood, and future of our children across the country.

The Syndicate believes that, from the perspective of the labor movement, any major social and political transformation in Iran must begin with the defense of freedom, equality, life, livelihood, human dignity, and the right to independent organization of workers and the people.

Our independence as workers—as the largest and most toiling social class of the country, comprising women and men, youth, and all ethnicities and nationalities residing in this land—along with relying on our million-strong force, is our guide in facing current developments.

In this regard, over the coming days, a series of the Syndicate's positions based on the following principles will be published: unconditional defense of the lives and well-being of workers, worker families, and the oppressed people of the country; resolute protest against internal repression and killings, and against war and militarism; and opposition to any policy that further endangers the lives, security, and livelihood of the people.

We call upon all labor, student, and women's organizations and groups, as well as defenders of freedom and equality across the country, by expressing clear and explicit stances, and through solidarity and vigilance, not to allow decades of arduous struggles of Iran's social movements to be destroyed or exploited in these sensitive conditions.

Let us never forget that the remedy for workers and toiling masses is unity and organization.
