“Zamaneh” is a media foundation that operates in the fields of news reporting, publishing reports, analysis, theoretical discussions, online book publishing, education, and holding discussion and dialogue sessions. The “Zamaneh” website is the axis of the Zamaneh Media Foundation's activities.
The Zamaneh Media Foundation began its work as “Radio Zamaneh”, and although it no longer produces radio programs, it is still known by this name. We honor this title. Our website address reflects this initial activity.
Laying the groundwork for the creation of “Radio Zamaneh” began in 2004 through the efforts of Iranians such as Farah Karimi, then a member of the Dutch Parliament. “Radio Zamaneh” commenced its activities on Mordad 13, 1385 (August 4, 2006), coinciding with the night of the centennial anniversary of the Constitutional Revolution.
The main focus of “Zamaneh” activities is supporting the efforts of human rights and civil society activists in Iran. Given the lack of an open media space in Iran, another goal of Zamaneh is striving to create media diversity.
“Zamaneh” strives to be a tribune for “other” voices. This media outlet stands against discrimination and endeavors to place its information dissemination facilities at the disposal of individuals and social groups that face discrimination. Issues concerning women, religious, ethnic, and sexual minorities, etc., are at the core of “Zamaneh”'s attention.
