The Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company was established in 1958, but after the 1979 revolution, it was dissolved by the government and replaced by the Workers' House and the Islamic Labour Council, which were institutions spawned by the government rather than true representatives of the workers. The syndicate was reopened in 2005 by a group of employees of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company through holding a general assembly and elections. This labor organization is an official member of the International Transport Workers' Federation and an honorary member of the French General Confederation of Labour (CGT). Mansour Osanloo, Reza Shahabi, and Ebrahim Madadi are among the leaders of this syndicate.
The Syndicate of Workers of Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company was one of four labor organizations that issued a statement known as the Charter of Minimum Demands of Iranian Workers on February 10, 2010.
A number of the revivalists of this syndicate faced open judicial cases, suspended sentences, or dismissal in order to dissuade them from continuing their trade union activities, but these individuals, including Mansour Osanloo and Reza Shahabi, have continued their trade union struggle
