The starting point of the "Solidarity of Iranian Republicans" organization dates back to APSDA; when on July 24 and 25, 2010, corresponding to Mordad 2 and 3, 1389 [Persian calendar], representatives of a group of Iranians residing in various cities across the North American continent gathered and, motivated by solidarity with the freedom-seeking movement of the Iranian people (the Green Movement), founded the organization "Alliance for Advancing Secular Democracy in Iran (APSDA)". Subsequently, following months of negotiations, APSDA achieved organizational unity with the organization "Republicans of Iran Organization" in 2015 and established the new organization "Solidarity for Secular Republic and Human Rights". This organization changed its name to "Solidarity of Iranian Republicans" in 2017 during its third congress.
